Payment
Deposit
A deposit of $ 1000 reserves one place on a trip. The deposit can be paid by credit card.
Balance
The balance is due 90 days prior to the departure date and can only be paid by cheque or bank transfer.
Both the deposit and final payment are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Extra costs
Unless stated otherwise, not included in the Trip Price (Land Cost) are international and domestic airfares; insurances of any kind; visa fees; excess baggage charges; airport taxes; park fees; optional tipping; costs of medical immunisations; beverages and items of a personal nature.
Cancellation
The deposit and final payment are non-refundable and cannot be returned if you cancel the booking. We therefore strongly advise that you buy trip cancellation insurance.
Active Nature reserves the right to cancel any trip at any time due to inadequate sign-ups, which make the trip economically unfeasible to operate, social and political unrest, and “acts of God”. In such a case, Land Costs are refunded in full, but Active Nature is not responsible for additional expenses incurred by clients in preparing for the trip (i.e. non-refundable air tickets, visa fees, equipment, insurance, and medical expenses.)
In the event that there are not enough sign-ups to make a trip financially feasible, guests will be given the option to pay a Small Group Supplement in order to avoid cancellation of the trip.
Single supplement
Accommodations (in hotels) are based on double occupancy. If you are traveling alone and wish to share accommodation, we will try to assign you a roommate. If there is no one with whom you can share, or if you prefer single accommodation, you will be requested to pay a Single Supplement, as listed for each trip.
Refunds
Land Cost is quoted as a package and credits are not given for services not used. No partial refunds can be claimed for unused hotel rooms, meals, etc. This also applies to anyone who is disqualified during a trip.
Delays
The cost of delays is not included. If any trip has to be delayed because of bad weather, ocean or river conditions, trail conditions, road conditions, transportation delays, government intervention, sickness, or other contingency for which Active Nature or its agents cannot make provision.
